“I believe I know of a few ways you can ship marijuana without any complications. The first way is using a combination of peanut butter and ground coffee beans. Peanut butter is a good solution
or smaller quantities, coat the inside of a mason jar or some other air tight container with peanut butter with a spatula, then you just place the desired amount of product into the jar seal it and then mail (for obvious reason you put the desired amount of marijuana in a plastic bag).
Because a lot more coffee grounds are needed this is cost effective for larger quantities. Place a trash bag inside the shipping box to make a barrier between the coffee grounds and box. Zip lock however much product then you fill the trash bag with coffee grounds the more the better. Then submerge your product into the coffee grounds and ship. You can combine the two techniques but it is messy but is extremely effective.” —-Anonymous Contribution
Now seriously folks…our advise is that you leave this for the professionals. Do not try this at home.

Cheese is a perishable food which requires refrigeration.
Cheese must be shipped NEXT DAY DELIVERY. Materials
Styrofoam Box
Corrugated Box

We came across this press release on a Funeral Service that specializes in shipping your deceased internationally. This makes allot of sense when you consider that we have become a global economy with people relocating not just from state to state but from country to country. The need to ship a loved one back to their country of origin would obviously necessitate overnight shipping as one would not want to put their loved on in a tanker to arrive 8 weeks later. Most people know that international express shipping can be very cost prohibitive for your average personal shipper. The idea of striving to make a shipment of this nature affordable is both timely and necessary.

The first thing we want to do is define a large or freight item. Anything over 150lbs is considered a heavy weight item because of the 150lb weight restriction that all three of the big shipping companies have in place. We will define large items as those that fall within the 100-150 lb range. Although they fall within the weight allowance of the big three shippers (DHL, FEDEX, or UPS), and does not have to be shipped as freight, this weight range would certainly be considered large by our readers and we will focus our discussion on that weight range.
Typical items that fall within that weight range are: recliners, small dressers a small stove etc. There are two types of packing methods available for large objects. One that involves bubble wrap, blanket wrapping and shrink wrapping and the other that involves crating.
Materials Needed
Packing
Tape
Moving blankets 3.6 or 7lb filler
Packing foam
Hand acrylic packing tape
Procedure
Wrapping a large item
Typically an object such as a recliner is subject to scratching and tearing of the fabric. It does not have to be crated or put in a moving box but wrapped. Corners are the most susceptible to damage in any shipping package and should be reinforced preferably with packing foam or bubble wrap.
To wrap an item such as a recliner, it is recommended that:
1) The feet of the recliner be removed and taped (along with any tool needed) to the bottom of the chair for easy finding when unpacking.
2) All corners are protected with packing foam or bubble wrap.
3) The recliner is completely blanket wrapped using moving quality blankets and tape. Quality blankets have more filler weight.
4) The blanket is secured with packing grade acrylic tape. Use generous amounts of tape around the item to insure that the blanket does not fall off in transit.
5) Secure the Waybill onto the package with acrylic packing tape. In addition, place a copy of the waybill inside the package before wrapping.
6) Call you shipper of choice for a pickup.
Crating a large item (less than 150lbs)
An item such as a small stove or automobile part is best shipped in a crate. We are looking to avoid and dents that would not only damage the look of the item but also the ability of the item to perform its function.
Crates can either be purchased, homemade or custom made. The following are the characteristics of a good crate.
1) It should be able to handle the weight that it is carrying ie stacking
2) It should allow room for protective wrapping such as packing foam around the item
3) It should be a simple square or rectangle shape
4) Internally, it should have the ability to secure your item from moving internally in the crate
5) It should be a secure and closed box that can be readily opened by any inspectors
6) Crate panels are usually made of plywood.
7) Crate is usually reinforced with lumber
Once the item has been crated, securely attach the waybill to the outside of the crate and place an extra copy inside. Call you shipper of choice for a pickup.
A Robotics building team from Boston University have a great guide on building a basic crate that is highly recommended.

Shipping your dogs and puppies
This article has good tips on shipping a dog. The section on “Why Ship?” turns out to be unintentionally funny because of the author’s use of the the word “bitch”. He uses it in the formal sense but I am afraid that popular culture has made it impossible for us to read that paragraph without a smirk. He also gives his account of a close call that almost occurred traveling by with his puppies.
Kennel Size
This article gives great kennel information and diagrams. In fact we link to this section from our article.
Our Supplement To Following Video Bikes may be shipped via DHL, Fedex or UPS. The only concern about shipping a bike using these carriers is whether your bike would be considered dim weight . Dim weight packages are priced according to their dimensions and not their weight. In order to check if your package would be considered a dime weight object solve the dim weight calculation once the bike is packaged. This is usually not a problem with bikes because bikes are heavy enough to escape this category.

We have the following recommendations:
Put some packing peanuts or packing foam in the box with the child. Packing peanuts or foam may either prevent or minimize damage to the children during shipping.
Tape the corners of the child bearing boxes to keep them from being torn apart during shipping. Box corner tearing is a common shipping problem. However, in this case there is the added complication of minimizing air in the package. Please use your discretion on taping corners or not.
Test packaging by throwing child packed box about three feet to simulate actions of couriers throwing boxes from one courier to another. Once your packaging is standardized it can be used to send other children to other locations.
Insert a sandwich or some real peanuts to tide the child over during transport.

This short video found on YouTube is entitled “How to Ship a Guinea Pig”. Although the Guinea Pigs in this video are cute, it does not convey any specific information on shipping Guinea Pigs. Please see our article on shipping small animals or shipping pets. Since we have found this to be a common misconception among our readers-we feel the need to clarify that neither DHL, Fedex, or UPS will ship live vertebrae animals.
